President Obama will raise substantially less in the second quarter of his campaign than the first, according to the New York Times.

The paper writes that Obama campaign manager Jim Messina has told Democratic officials that the president will raise about $55 million in the quarter that ends Sept. 30, about $30 million less than he raised the first quarter of his campaign – which was the second quarter of the year, ending June 30.

The news was – gosh who would have expected – buried within the Times story.

No doubt, $55 million is a lot of money. But something’s not right.

The campaign attributes part of the decline to the need for Obama to stay in Washington address budget battles with Republicans. That is – sorry for the inconvenience – the need to be president.

But a separate Times article Saturday that said many small donors are hesitant to start giving to Obama again. And it’s no secret that even for Democrats, the thrill is gone.

I think that LA, Rig, spider and peace need to start breaking into their piggy banks to help Obama.

The White House noted to ABC News that the Bush administration was the first to consider Solyndra's application and that some executives at the company have a history of donating to Republicans.

The results of the Congressional probe shared Tuesday with ABC News show that less than two weeks before President Bush left office, on January 9, 2009, the Energy Department's credit committee had voted against offering a loan commitment to Solyndra.

]"In reality, on January 9, 2009 -- at the end of the Bush administration -- the DOE Credit Committee voted against offering a conditional commitment to Solyndra, saying that the deal was premature and questioning its underlying financial support," Stearns said in his opening statement. "Only after Obama took control, and the stimulus passed, was the Solyndra deal pushed through."[/SIZE]

Type in “Solyndra” and “Bush” at Google and you’ll get pages of media references (Fox, too, but not exclusively) to “Obama trying to blame Bush for Solyndra.” In the page I looked at, there was only one “Bush role in Solyndra…” From CNN to ABC to dozens more, the story is Obama Blaming.

Facts?

Once taxpayer money was involved, the Obama administration was reluctant to let Solyndra fail.

By the time the Obama administration took office in late January 2009, the loan programs' staff had already established a goal of, and timeline for, issuing the company a conditional loan guarantee commitment in March 2009," said Jonathan Silver, who heads the Energy loan program.

....emails released Tuesday only show that the White House was eager to have the president make the Solyndra announcement...

In April, after ABC News and the Center for Public Integrity aired the first in a series of reports on the Solyndra deal, Waxman was an early critic of the decision by House investigators to pursue the matter. He wrote a letter saying his own review had not uncovered "any information or documents that suggest any impropriety, wrongdoing, or favoritism in the award of the Solyndra loan guarantee."

But Wednesday, Waxman expressed displeasure with the sudden collapse of the company, especially after the company's CEO had just weeks earlier visited his office and personally vouched for the promise of the company.

"Well, these rosy scenarios were not realized," Waxman said. "Today we'll ask why. Is the reason unforeseen developments in the global marketplace, as Solyndra and DOE argue? Or is the reason sloppy or inadequate vetting, or worse yet, corporate malfeasance?"

OOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooPPPPPPPPPPppppppppppSSSSSSSS SSssssssssss!!!!!

Here's is the part you fell for!

As the hearing was underway, the Department of Energy was sending out emails to the press intended to convey that Solyndra was a bipartisan problem.

Along the lines of the original post...

The Obama admin approached MTV about helping the campaign connect with young Americans. MTV, having held pro-Obama events in the past, rejected Obama's request: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/mtv-rejects-obama-campaigns-request-to-help-president-connect-with-young-voters/

Even MTV has bailed on Obama to some degree.

Solyndra first came into the picture during the Bush administration, when it was one of just 16 firms found eligible (http://bit.ly/osdri9) for several billion dollars available in the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (http://1.usa.gov/qtaivp)'s guaranteed loan program.

And more, the Energy Policy Act, which the Bush administration used to promote Solyndra, was passed by the same committee (http://1.usa.gov/qtaivp) under the leadership of Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas).

One Democrat noted that while the GOP has been having a field day with the involvement of an Obama bundler, another major investor in a similar position is Madrone Capital Partners (http://reut.rs/nXjsJn), run by Walmart's Walton family -- major GOP donors (http://bit.ly/rk3Xts).

Further, the Bush administration nearly pushed a guaranteed loan through for Solyndra (http://bit.ly/oBeyId) the day before Obama took office, ThinkProgress reported.

Proves nothing. "Nearly passing" means what? It means shYt. Try again. That 550 page bills is what? Nothing. Solyndra is not mentioned anywhere in that bill. Keep trying.
