I thought this could be fun. In my opinion are biggest downfall is our depth. Take a look at the roster and highlight who you would keep to build upon. Be realistic... you can't cut everyone... Thought it could be fun. The way I did it is simple
Blue: Keep
Red: Gone
Black: Indifferent

WR Brandon Lloyd Matthew Willis Demaryius Thomas[/COLOR]
LT Ryan Clady Chris Clark
LG Zane Beadles Russ Hochstein
C J.D. Walton Manny Ramirez
RG Chris Kuper Russ Hochstein
RT Orlando Franklin Tony Hills
TE Daniel Fells Julius Thomas Virgil Green Dante Rosario
WR Eddie Royal Eric Decker Quan Cosby
QB Kyle Orton Brady Quinn or Tim Tebow
FB Spencer Larsen Virgil Green
RB Knowshon Moreno Willis McGahee Lance Ball

LDE Robert Ayers Jason Hunter
NT Brodrick Bunkley Ryan McBean Ty Warren
DT Kevin Vickerson Marcus Thomas Mitch Unrein
RDE Elvis Dumervil Derrick Harvey
SLB Von Miller Mario Haggan
MLB Joe Mays Mario Haggan Nate Irving
WLB D.J. Williams Wesley Woodyard
LCB Champ Bailey Cassius Vaughn Jonathan Wilhite
RCB Andre Goodman Chris Harris
SS Brian Dawkins Quinton Carter
FS Rahim Moore David Bruton

K Matt Prater Britton Colquitt
P Britton Colquitt Matt Prater

Building Blocks: Von Miller, Rahim Moore, Orlando Franklin, Clady, Kuper, Decker, B Lloyd, Champ, Colquitt, and Doom(if he can ever get healthy)

Wildcards: D Thomas, J Thomas, Robert Ayers, Moreno, and Tim Tebow

Needs: CB, QB, RB, WR, MLB, DL, OL depth

After looking through my list I just noticed how much our depth SUCKS! Not a lot of great keepers. Also, if I blued them it did not mean I thought they should start, rather be kept as a starter or for good depth. The guys I listed at the end are guys that I think can be key contributors and building blocks. The last list is guys I believe could be key contributors if they get it going a little bit. You don't have to agree with anything I said here, but try it out. OUR DEPTH SUCKS!

"keep" =/= "building blocks" imo

In fact, far from it. I'd keep our entire OL, but right now I wouldn't call more 2 (at BEST) "building blocks"

What's wrong with Larsen? Good blocker, can catch the ball. I don't get it

Pretty much agree except for the following:

WR Brandon Lloyd Matthew Willis Demaryius Thomas
RB Knowshon Moreno Willis McGahee Lance Ball

QB Kyle Orton Brady Quinn or Tim Tebow

And would not include D Thomas or Moreno as wildcards.

Right now we are too short on talent and depth to be picky, if we have people who are not part of the problem they have to be part of the solution for the time being.

He is an avg blocker (on a good day) and an above average pass catcher. He is good for depth due to versatility. I agree with the OP that we need something more than Larsen

Que Kaylore saying that he is becoming great...

Would change:

QB Kyle Orton Brady Quinn or Tim Tebow

I missed that, I agree, I keep Larsen. He's better than what we've had over the past several years.

Larsen is a keeper in my book.

Love the versatility. That catch yesterday was sweet. I watched him crash into the line at 110% even though some of the plays were no where near him. He's a playa.

Spencer Larsen is becoming great. Did you see that catch off the turf? He was able to do so because he is Mormon and levitated the ball to himself with his "magic underwear." :)

Spencer Larsen makes me want us to go full WCO again.

It sure is fun watching it, when its done right.

Why is KnoSho in BLUE???????????????

IMO, we would have had a significantly better chance of winning yesterday with him in the lineup.

People rip him here because of where he was drafted. (Not his fault.) They also rip him for being too fragile. (Absolutely legitimate.)

But, when he's on the field, he creates problems for defenses with his ability to catch the ball and make things happen. He also does a great job picking up the blitz and protecting the passer. He's underrated as runner between the tackles, as well.

You saw yesterday (imo) that WM, while WM is a good, hard-nosed runner... he simply can't bounce outside. He's got good hands, but he's not ideal for catching the ball out of the backfield, regularly.

The issue with Kno is purely one of health. He's got to show he can be available. If he is, I think he's very useful to the offense. But, I don't think you can commit any major resources to him at this point. He's got to prove he can stay healthy. It's that simple. If he can, he's a great back to have around in a tandem situation. (Which is pretty much what all NFL teams do, now.)

Larsen must be the best team player, or buys lunch or drinks all the time maybe hes the funniest guy in the locker room. To be honest I don't see him playing at 110% effectiveness. I couldn't honestly answer why he is still on the team.

KnoKno is only going to give you a 2.5 yards per rush when healthy

Wow, it must be because D Thomas is too fragile. He looked pretty explosive every time I saw him last year.

or, you know, 4.0 ypc - his actual rushing average (http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/MoreKn00.htm). But don't let facts get in your way.

Funny thing i was all for KnoSho coming to Denver. Thought was a TD part 2. Even met him at Fan Fair that year. Told him "Moreno you should bring back the Mile High Salute, as a fanbase we hit hard times be nice to get that energy back." He asked me why everyone thought that "silly celebration" was worth it and wanted to do his own "new" thing. Well needless to say I haven't got a chance to see his new thing, and every one that does the salute Decker, McGahee, Miller etc. are making plays. So yeah i'll admit Im a hater to SlowShon but its personal (and he started it.)

Called sarcasm dip****! But you still included his 100 yard games that came from a KC team that didn't worry at all aginst rush and put more CBs on the field to stop the pass. Your ass could have got 100yds for the TWO games.

Now I can buy this because we would be actually using Larsen's strength.

it depends on the context, for me, building blocks are guys you cannot be without and succeed. Von,Clady,Champ,Elvis,Prater,DJ,Lloyd,Moore & maybe Bunkley.

everyone else is someone you can use to bridge a gap, hasn't shown enough flashes or just doesn't have the game film to justify keeping as a building block.

if we're just talking about building up depth and improving then i would agree with almost all the guys you have in blue

I have seen it, and what you need is a coaching staff that can work together and are on the same page! That is why we fired Cable, because we were close, but not cigar.

We have the personel and now we just needed for someone to "pull" our resources together for a working unit. We are going to mess up here and there, but for all in all - we are back!

I believe, if you keep the same personel, it will take you three years and Kyle Orton is HORRIBLE!!!

Building blocks? (To me are players who have proven they can be a quality starters in this league and who for sure have a future with this team as well)

On offense:
Ryan Clady
Chris Kuper
Eric Decker

Defense:
Broderick Bunkley
Elvis Dumervil
Von Miller
DJ Williams

Then the next tier would be guys I want to keep because they have the potential as long term starters and have shown me enough to suggest they are worth keeping

Offense:
Tim Tebow
Eddie Royal
Orlando Franklin
Demaryious Thomas
Daniel Fells

Defense:
Robert Ayers

Third tier are guys I either havent seen enough of to draw a conclusion but still feel they have potential, or I think at the very least provide valuable depth for us long term:

Offense:
Knowshon Moreno
Julius Thomas

Defense:
Marcus Thomas
Wesley Woodyard
Nate Irving
Joe Mays
Cassius Vaughn
David Bruton
Rahim Moore
Quintin Carter

Thats how I see it anyways
Anyone not on that list is either older and I dont see as part of this team 3 years from now, or is not good enough yet to warrant serious consideration

The only exception on that list is Bailey, who I think will still be on this team but not sure I consider him a "long term" option
