# Seahawks LB Aaron Curry confirms role has changed. He's been demoted to 2nd unit. KJ Wright working with first unit: http://***********/3d3p9nf

Wow. The 2009 class really sucks. Curry, Jackson, Smith, Maybin, Heyward-Bey, Monroe, Crabtree, Moreno, English, Jerry have all been major disappointments.
This could be one of the more disappointing drafts of the modern era.

Man I remember Curry supposedly being a "can't miss" prospect who was the "best player" of that draft class.

Ahem

Great measurables and he plays well, but honestly, it really bothers me that he wasn't set as the centerpiece of a Wake Forest defensive unit...

Yup... I was saying that, lol.

Maybe the kid just needs a change in scenery. It's crazy that he's been so disappointing.

Oh, I've been very out-spoken that Raji sucks. Of course, I haven't seen him play in the NFL yet, but I have SERIOUS doubts that he can handle a 3-4 Nose.

Curry was vastly over-rated, but is a genuinely good player.

Jackson will probably be really successful... but really successful as a 3-4 end doesn't make much noise anyways unless you're balls deep in the east coast like Dick Seymour.

Boom...roasted.

Raji is over-rated and rarely plays the nose :)

Man the Packers just dominated that draft.

He's all brawn and no brains. I think he's still an intriguing player in that he's so huge and fast and what not, but it doesn't show up on gameday.

He did do this:

Fixed it for you.

I'm glad the Broncos made those trades to get back into the second round of the 2009 draft!

Especially when everyone (except them) knew 2010 was going to be better.

Another example of college not translating to the NFL.

Everyone was saying Curry was a can't miss guy and that the only reason he wasn't the top pick was because LBs aren't worth #1 overall money.

Its a shame Curry hasn't made the mental step forward to match up with his physical tools. Makes you wonder how much of it is coaching though. He's got solid numbers for a strong side linebacker including 5.5 sacks in two years. Makes you wonder what a change of scenery would do for him.

I thought he'd be best used in a 3-4 front coming out. Seattle now has no guaranteed money owed to him next year so this makes it highly probable they'll cut him at the end of the year.

He had a lot of speed and was good at everything but rushing the passer. I don't think you ever take a guy that high in front 7 that can't rush the passer.

was a stupid pick at the time

you dont draft OLBs that high unless they can rush the passer

There's another player from the Wake Forest defense that was drafted high who hasn't lived up to expectations. If I could only remember his name...

Funny enough, KJ Wright was drafted using our pick that we gave away to New England (who then traded it to Seattle) :-)!

I thought one of the reasons he went so high was his high SAT scores.

I'd like to see him at MLB if he were to ever come here myself.

6'2", 255, strong enough to play strong side, fast enough to cover on nickel downs. Not out of the question that he could pick up MLB. The big question is why he hasn't gotten it done in Seattle. Bad coaching, missed too much time to injuries, nothing between the ears, or a combination of all three.

Well Curry has the talent and potential. Maybe just on another team that is. If it isn't the Seahawks.

Wow, I was really wrong on this guy - I thought he could be one of the top 5 LBs in the league when he came out.

Yeah, he may have been a key cog in a superbowl champion, but he's no Patrick Peterson.
