Everybody remembers the urgency of President Obama's attitude toward the awful jobs situation.
Back in early August, Obama said the jobs situation was so urgent that he was going to give another speech about it -- in a month or so, in September after his vacation on Martha's Vineyard.
And then in September the president announced he would give his major jobs speech to a joint session of Congress on Sept. 7. But he neglected to check with congressional leaders first. And they suggested the 8th. So, since it was their House, the 8th it was.
"Tonight," the president said in the first 34 of his 4,021 words to a national television audience that night, "we meet at an urgent time for our country. We continue to face an economic crisis that has left millions of our neighbors jobless, and a political crisis that has made things worse."
The speech got panned as another political campaign one with Obama announcing, in effect, that....
...since the first stimulus spending plan of $787 billion hadn't really worked, maybe another $447 billion stimulus spending plan would.
This is the kind of thinking that can make sense within Washington. But since "stimulus" has become a laugh line, he didn't use that word anymore.

Here's the revealing exchange with a persistent host Candy Crowley on CNN's "State of the Union:"
CROWLEY: When is the bill going to get on the floor?
DURBIN: The bill is on the calendar. Majority leader Reid moved it to the calendar. It is ready and poised. There are a couple other items we may get into this week not on the bill and some related issues that may create jobs. But we're going to move forward on the president's bill. There will be a healthy debate. I hope the Republicans will come to...
CROWLEY: After the recess, so next month? Or when will it actually begin to act on?

Urgent now. Couple million people foreclosed since he has taken office and put those homes in the hands of JPM, BofA and the rest of the crooks he's serving.
With all the bailout BS he could have easily kept those hands out of the bankers/feds hands. Instead he ****ed main street.
He ran on a platform of change. Instead he made things worse for the average Joe. MUCH WORSE.

I have no idea. I don't speak for the right or the GOP. I speak for me. If I am going to raise taxes and try to sell that to Americans, I am going to talk about how I am going to use the revenue to pay down the debt. Not spend 250k per job that doesn't pay down the debt. And I am going to cut spending in half for 5-10 years or until the debt is less that 2 trillion dollars and get this country on level footing. I am going to give huge tax incentives for businesses returning to America soil. I am going to get rid of medicare and medicaid and make every doctor office and hospital an arm of the state to control costs by reducing what these assholes can actually charge for medical work or what they get paid.

But, but, that would HURT too much. (Translated: that would lose us elections!)
Sincerely,
The Administration

but..but..it's already sold. 70% favor raising taxes on individuals making 200,000 or more & on families making 250,000 or more.

That's pretty much what medicaid and medicare do. Unfortunately for the health care provider, they generally only pay ~20% of what is billed.

That is where you are wrong. Your Prez got everything he wanted, $817 billion in stimulus (last count), regulation on wall street, more power to the EPA and hell bought a major car company.
He won....we lost. Think about this. What is $817 billion divided by 400 million people in the USA? You really think Obama has done anything for the "People", or just his people(hint try to look past skin color, racist.)

most economists agree that the stimulus created jobs and should have been bigger. i'll take their word over your gloom and doom any day. i keep bringing up the fact that when he became president the US was losing 700,000 jobs a month. where are we now hobo?

Goodness.
"Most" economists are waiting until Obama is ousted before they start expecting an upturn in the economy. There's a reason why people aren't creating new positions right now...because they're scared that Obama is going to start regulating and taxing businesses out of existence.

Right: They are overbilling to in some cases cheat the tax payer. 10 grand to get an MRI? Really? 250-500 for a physical or checkup? It's ****ing nuts.
