DENVER In a real-life version of the movie "Weekend at Bernie's," two men drove around with a dead friend's body, then used his ATM card during a visit to a strip club, police said.

..Robert Jeffrey Young and Mark Rubinson were charged with abusing a corpse, identity theft and criminal impersonation. They were freed on bond, according to the Denver Post.

It's unclear how Jeffrey Jarrett died, but the men were not charged in his death. The cause has not yet been determined, as toxicology tests are still under way, the paper reported.

According to the Post, an affidavit said Young found Jarrett dead at his home in southeast Denver, but instead of alerting authorities, went to find Rubinson at the restaurant where he works. The two then allegedly went back to Jarrett's home and loaded the body into Rubinson's Lincoln Navigator.

The affidavit accused Young and Rubinson of leaving Jarrett's body in the vehicle while they drank at a bar on his tab Aug. 27.

Investigators allege the men stopped at a restaurant, returned Jarrett's body to his home, used Jarrett's ATM card and withdrew $400 at a teller machine at Shotgun Willie's strip club before reporting Jarrett's death.

I understand them taking the money, I mean he's died, he's not going to need it, but why drive around with a died body in your car?

Especially if you aren't going to show him one last good time by taking him in the bar with you.

Especially if you aren't going to show him one last good time by taking him in the bar with you.

It looks like that is what they planned. They probably then realized how much it suchs to drag around that dead weight when putting him in the car.
