View Full Version : What Was the Worst Dimension of the Broncos During Home Loss to Oakland?

Losing at home to the Oakland Raiders is always difficult to deal with. The Broncos had alot of sub-par facets that allowed the team to lose. Which do you think played the biggest role in the loss?

Offensive line not an option?

That is what I was going to say. Orton wasn't helped by an inept offensive line...

Offensive line not an option?

A fitting quesiton from 'smell my dump'. Ha!

I guess consider it included in the 'running game' option.

They did much better in the passing game than they did in the run game.

I voted run game, QB, and coaching.

The run game just sucked. Orton just sucked. The coaching was terrible. The team was not prepared and it showed. Pretty much every team in the league would have blown out either team that played Monday if they made that many mistakes/penalties. The fact that it was a close game says a lot about these two teams.

The play calling on offense was terrible. The turds were bringing tons of blitzes and we never countered them. A ton of the game plan seemed to revolve around Fells... That same game plan fell apart as he wasn't open and dropped balls that weren't perfectly thrown. Why are we using him so much when we have actual receiving talent? There is a lot of stuff in that game that makes me question McCoy.

jhns, you bring up a good point, I really thought we would be a much better coached team this year, but that wasnt a well coached or disciplined team that took the field monday night.

That is crap. I have watched the game twice now and they hardly got pressure without blitzing. No line will hold up to all those blitzes. It is up to the offensive coordinator and QB to back them off and give the line a chance.

After my first vote it said "You've already voted in this poll", so I clicked the back arrow to view poll results and it had QB selected.

...even the Mane itself now knows my stance. zowie!:tinfoilha

It was the turnovers. That fumble...I still haven't gotten over that fumble. It lost us the game. That was a TD or at least a goal line visit and he literally gave the ball to them. I can't begin to fathom how pissed I am at Orton for that.

tie between Oline and QB play

Oline got raped in the face all game long
It looked like Notre Dame against an SEC line

Orton did what he could do sabotage the offense
Seemed like he constantly killed any momentum we started to build over and over again

I voted for Orton. He was easily the worst player on the field. Not that that is anything out of the ordinary. Monday night the divide was far greater than usual.

Yep, then there was KM giving the ball at the oakland redzone, but to compound Orton's TO was that he had Fells wide open.

I expected the OL to struggle, 2 real vets, 2 2nd year guys next to each other then a Rookie RT.

I was surprised they gave Orton time to rack up the garbage yards but I thought Oakland would stack the line and pressure Orton into a mistake which they did. Also Orton walked into a couple sacks so I picked the TO's as the thing that hurt.

I think they will need time to gell on the ground. I just hope Franklin isn't another Foster...

So pass blocking is on a different level then? The piss poor OLine was every bit as poor as Orton yet it doesn't get a choice to pick.

Offensive line not an option?

That could be tied into the running game. I thought the same thing. Not having a running game changes everything for the defense. It is another possible year of the combination of not good runners and/or good enough line to make holes.

BTW, Smell My Dump got banned after 4 posts. Seems another member from the "past".

I don't think fans of the afc west have the right to say the Raiders are a bad team after what they accomplished last season. They did smoke us two times last season. They proved what they did was no fluke. We proved we are the bad team.

We have no running game. Our defense has a big gaping hole in the middle of it and we played flag football with the best flag football team in the history of the game. The penalty game doesnt work for us. I might have one of the unique positions of listening to sports banter all day long. I'm a Barber and I hear opinions from every type of fan. When I come here i hear something completely different.

All this backwards talk about orton and tebow blows my mind. The offensive line and running game is killing us not the qb position. I dont think qb should even be one of the choices in the poll. 38 yards rushing is just horrible. we get inside the 20 and everyone in the galaxy knows we cant run the ball. The coaches see the defenses and they call pass plays inside the 20 with no room ot operate. Moreno is too light in the ass to power anyone. The answer is to put tebow in and give us the running option but how long will that gimick work in the nfl?

I know somebody will say tebow givs us a chance. I have been reading all this hysteria and i dont see anyone bringing up the idea that tebow might scramble and get some yards, but when he does that he might miss a wide open target. The rushing yards will increase but the passing will decrease. The only way to fix this is to get the line and the running game fixed so nobody has a excuse.

Even if we fix that we still dont know if we win a bunch of games because we still cant stop the run. Total frustration people especially having a packer fan in the shop.

^5 Good one. I wish. I feel like i could out rush moreno and mcgahee with no practice. I just dont understand why we cant run the ball anymore. Orton or the coaches need to think about the cadence too. When orton calls white 90 its a pass everytime. Did anyone notice or hear that?
